Our Cork Office
Established in 1825 in Dublin, Matheson recently opened a new Irish office in Cork, located at Penrose Dock in Cork city centre. 800 people work across Matheson’s six offices, including 120 partners and tax principals and over 540 legal, tax and digital services professionals. Matheson services the legal needs of internationally focused companies and financial institutions doing business in and from Ireland.
Cork is a very important location for Matheson. It was the first large Irish law firm to open a second Irish office outside of Dublin when it first opened the premises in Cork in 2018. In 2019, it underlined its dedication to the area by adding new resources and by announcing a significant investment in new, larger office space at Penrose Dock.
The firm’s clients in the region have access to an experienced team in the firm’s Cork office, and are also be able to avail of the full suite of Matheson's legal services and expertise. Cork is a hub for many of the world’s leading multinational pharmaceuticals, med-tech, financial services, ITC and cyber-security businesses, with many domestic Irish companies with an international focus also located in the region. Matheson acts for over 60% of FDI member companies of the American Chamber of Commerce located in Cork.
